How do I work with Emily? Currently, Emily only sees patients at Tucson Medical Center (TMC) Outpatient Therapies on a limited basis.
Do you take insurance? The clinic at TMC does take most insurances but you will work with the team at the front desk and your insurance company before scheduling to be sure.
Do you see patients out of state? No. At this time Emily only serves people in Pima county/ Tucson, Arizona.
Do you see patients on telehealth? If you are in-state Arizona, local to Pima county or willing to drive to Tucson, we can occasionally accommodate this. It is completely dependent upon your insurance and rules at the time. We do require in-person for initial evaluation.
What is Occupational Therapy for POTS? There are so many aspects of occupational therapy that assist individuals with POTS – too many to include here. In general, we see common areas of sleep management, fatigue and energy management, pain management, brain fog and cognitive function, lifestyle integration and navigating management strategies of POTS to maximize function and quality of life. We teach about energy management, sleep strategies, modifications and ways to adapt your environment and the way that you complete activities, breathing techniques, overall non-pharmacologic management strategies for POTS, autonomic regulation, and more.
